I have been working a lot on my website this weekend. I have made each of my website links pages and have organized the layout. There's still a lot I have to do, like the small details and information. I have a lot of organization to do because I want my website to be very simple and organized.
The only thing I'm worried about, because I'm working on my own computer on cs5, is transferring all the information for my website onto the computer website so it can be uploaded to the server.

This week I downloaded dreamweaver on my own computer so I can, and have been working on my website from home. I have been working mostly on my homepage and that layout. I have also started one of my other links and that layout. This way I can make my other links similar so that my wesbite is easier to navigate around, and looks nicer to the eye.

This week I have started to design my homepage, as well, I have been considering the smaller elements of my website. I have been thinking about where I am going to place certain things, and the fact that I am going to have a go back button on each page, which will bring the viewer back to the homepage.
I have been browsing other websites to get ideas for mine and I have been picking out which pictures I am going to use for my final product.

Website thoughts

I have thought about what I want my final website to look like. I plan on it being a very simple and clean page, that is easy to navigate around. I want to include a very limited amount of pictures, only where necessary, because a lot of pictures can be distracting. I haven't had a lot of time to think about or work on my website because I have been at home sick, but I am hoping to get a lot of work done in the next few weeks.

Website Layout

For my webpage I want the first page to be an introduction to veganim, but at the same time I want to the first page to be very simple and not have a lot on it besides the title and a picture, with something short and small written. On the left side I want the links to my other pages to be present.
The first one will be a kind of ‘what is vegansism?’ page. Inside there I plan to explain what vegansism is and the history of it, another pretty simple page.
The second link will be Health. Inside this link I want to include a short blurb about vegan health, with links to ‘pros’, ‘cons’ and ‘what to know to stay healthy’. Under the last one, I want a link to different types of vitamins that can help maintain health.
The third link will be ‘Animal-free recipes’, which will bring the viewer to a page that says ‘Breakfast’ ‘Snacks’ ‘Lunch’ and ‘Dinner’. Under these will be appropriate recipes for the titles, along with pictures.
The forth link will be ‘Famous Vegans’. It will include names of famous vegans, that will bring you to a page about them, and information on their life as vegans.
The fifth and last page will be a link called ‘where to eat?’ Inside this will be ‘Restaurants’ and ‘Grocery Stores’, with names and addressed of the appropriate places inside.

VEGANISM WEB PAGE IDEA

I have not got to the point of design the first page of my website, but I have planned out what links the website is going to include. I plan on including a page dedicated to vegan recipes I have personally tried out, along with pictures of the final products. For a second link I want to include famous vegans and their biographies, with pictures and possibly quotes. I am going to include a page on vegan health concerns and how to maintain a vegan lifestyle and still stay healthy. My fourth link will be a page on where to eat and where to stop to get vegan food and finally my last link will include a list of reasons to go vegan, with links to other animal rights websites, such as PETA.

My pitch and first ideas.

The idea that I have come up with for my final web project is to make a website dedicated to veganism. To do this I plan to include easy recipes, meat substitutes, health benefits, myths about health risks, as well as reasons to go vegan. The reason I am motivated to produce this website is because I have been taking on a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle for years and I know it can be fairly hard to find information on the topic. I think that on top of giving helpful information to vegans, it can also help to contribute to the animal rights community by opening up the minds of the non-vegan audience to the world of veganism.
